Q: How old does my dog need to be to attend DePAW?
A: We do not accept puppies under 12 weeks. Puppies under the age of 6 months are permitted in DePAW without a rabies but must be kept separate, but must have, deworming, distemper booster, bordetella boosters.

Q: What vaccinations are required for my pet to attend DePAW?
A: Dogs: Rabies, Distemper, Bordetella (every 6 months), Negative Fecal     ** We strongly recommend Canine Flu and Lepto
Cats & Ferrets: Rabies, Distemper, Fecal

Q: My vet only requires Bordetella once yearly, why do I need to have it every 6 months to attend your facility?
A: All of our doggie guests are required to be vaccinated against bordetella/canine cough every 6 months, as well all the other vaccinations required by the Illinois Department of Agriculture. Within our facility, we have seen approx. a 50% reduction in our already low canine cough rate since requiring it every 6 months vs annually.

Q: Must my dog be on a leash while on DePAW property?
A: Yes

Q: What holidays is DePAW closed?
A: DePAW Office is CLOSED on New Years Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day with LIMITED HOURS surrounding those holidays.  Staff is of course onsite attending to Lodging clients but we do not offer Training, Grooming, Daycare to public on CLOSED days.

Q: What should I bring for my pet to lodge with DePAW?
A: Dogs: Leash & Food. Bringing  your own food is a strong recommendation since we like to keep them on their normal diets, however  we do have DePAW’s food for an extra charge. We provide beds, cots, and blankets at no add’l charge, but we do like to see owners bringing a small blanket or t-shirt with the owners scent on it.  They just need to be small enough to fit into washer.
Felines/Ferrets/Bunnies:  Carrier, food, & bed
*If your pet is on any medication, please bring them in labeled containers with the type of medication and instructions on administering.

Q: If I have more than one dog, can they stay together?
A: Yes, if we have room available in the larger runs.

Q: What type of animals do you lodge?
A: Furry pets, no feathers or scales.

Q: Do you offer webcams so I can view my pet?
A: Not at this time but we hopefully in the future for Lodging Pets.  We welcome calls or emails to check on your pet during business hours and we also try to put up pictures of our guests on FB!

if appt is cancelled between 48-72hrs period prior to reservation date, there will be 25% of the reservation charged.
If appt is cancelled within 24hrs of the reservation, there will be 50% of the reservation charged.
  • All No-Shows without cancellation will be charged 50% of the reservation unless during Peak/Holiday and then the full amount of the reservation will be charged.
  • All fees will be charged to the debit/credit card on file

Q:Can you give my pet their medications?
A: Yes, we do not charge extra for giving medications. Exceptions: more than 3x a day administration or outside of business hours. All medications need to be labeled with the type of medication and dosage instructions.

Q: Can I take a tour of your facility before making a reservation?
A: Absolutely and we encourage it! The best time for a tour of our facility is between 10am-2pm as early mornings and 4-7pm are higher traffic times of clients picking up and dropping off their pets which may increase chances of waiting for the tour.

Q: Do you have only one daycare area for the dogs?
A: No, we have 2 daycare areas.  We call them Side A and Side B.  We separate based on size, age, and temperament.

Q: Can I choose daycare for my dog while they are lodging?
A: Yes! there is an additional charge for daycare and you can choose 1/2 day or full day or alternate days.  If you do not choose daycare, your dog will be let out a minimum of 4x/day.  *Note: Lodging dogs that choose no daycare may add additional walks/one-on-one time for an extra charge.

Q: Is your daycare area outside or inside?
A: We have both! There are large indoor and outdoor play areas for each side.  Overhead doors lead out from inside play areas to large outdoor play area with play equipment for them to explore. We close the outside doors in case of inclement weather.

Q: What should I expect the first time I bring my dog in for Daycare?
A: We recommend your dog being here for a minimum of a half day (5hrs) for the first time.  This allows our staff to temperament test your dog by bringing them into the daycare group on a leash with a trained staff member. Having them on a leash allows a controlled pace of fellow dog introductions and lets staff see if they are comfortable to be off the leash and in with the group, or more short periods of introductions is needed until they are comfortable.  We want your dog to have a good, safe, and fun experience and allowed to acclimate at their own pace and sometimes this process can take a few hours the first time.

Q: Why do I need to fill out a Daycare Evaluation Form?
A: The information you provide on your dog(s) normal personality and how they have previously behaved with other dogs, allows our staff valuable insight as to how to introduce your dog into a daycare group.

Q: Why does DePAW use their own collars and why are they different color?
A: DePAW only allows “quick release” collars for the safety of all dogs.  Sometimes playtime can become exuberant and should teeth or paws get tangled up in a collar during playtime, our staff can quickly release the collar.  We use a purple color collar to indicate the dog is here for Lodging, and green collars to indicate the dog is here for daycare only.

Q: Do I need to tip my bather/groomer?
A: It is strictly optional. You may tip if you feel you have received a job well done!

Q: How do I make a reservation?
A: You may call us at 630.232.8663 during business hours or email us: info@depawK9campus.com

Q: Can I make payments for Lodging/Training/Classes/Grooming/Daycare online?
A: Not at this time, payments are accepted in person or by phone.

Q: Do daycare packages expire?
A: Yes. The 10-day packages are valid for 6 months, and the 30-day packages are valid for 12 months.

Q: Do you charge per day or drop off times?
A: We charge “per night” for lodging so it doesn’t matter when you drop off or pick up during days, just how many “nights” they are sleeping over.  Daycare charges are charged either per hour, 1/2 day (5hrs or less), or full day (more than 5hrs)

Q: Does your staff stay overnight with the pets?
A: We have the last check on the pets between 10pm – Midnight,  then staff returns at 6am.

Q: Is your staff certified?
A: We proudly educate our staff in several areas of pet care certifications, continuing education workshops, etc.  Please check the faculty page to see individual staff certifications.

Q: Can I meet your trainer before purchasing any training packages?
A: Yes! We strongly encourage you to set up a FREE orientation for you and your pet with our trainer to discuss what specific training needs may best suit you and your pets needs using a variety of methodologies.

Q: Does DePAW have an extreme weather policy?
A: Dogs are allowed access to outside except during Extreme Weather.

During wet Weather (Rain, Snow and Ice) our daycare attendants make every effort to limit potty breaks outside, however some of our furry friends may enjoy playing in a puddle or two while outside and may come out a tad wet at the end of their visit today.  We appreciate your patience and understanding.”. During melting snow, heavy rains, and spring wet weather dogs may be damp upon pick up. There are quite a few dogs that thoroughly enjoy taking a quick roll in the snow or partake in a fun game of chase through the rain puddles and melting snow with their friends during potty breaks that make them even damper. We try to towel dry those exuberant ones the best we can, but scheduling a bath and blow dry before pick up is a great option on these days to ensure having a clean dry fur baby upon pick up.

During extreme hot or cold our daycare staff will limit potty breaks outside. During extreme weather the daycare staff monitors the dogs behavior for anything out of the ordinary and may give breaks and notify you if needed.
